UV MAPPING???

Trying to grasp how to actually apply this technique in blender so I can make realistic textures for my current 3d scene, all the tutorials that I've looked at use older versions of blender and are not clear at what it is you have to precisely do.
Looks like I'll just have to keep searching....

Finally getting things finished

As the end of term approaches I've been able to get most of my work in and make real progress in the incomplete projects.
My groups video project is well on the way with most of the footage shot and imported even sorted! The first web site task is out of the way, with a new one to take its place..sigh...
My partnership in blender seems to be working well, with me being the main environment designer and Tegan being the character creator it should be ready to place together soon.
My 2D assignment to create a scene had a hold back me being the problem and accidently deleting it but I managed to start again and make a better layout overall.

until next time

Web

I've finally started to piece together my site in dreamweaver and have successfully placed my header logo and its buttons into the right place after exporting from fireworks after many attempts but practice makes perfect, the home page is almost complete and the next thing is to make my header a template so that each page can be linked and matching so that the design has flow.

alot of progress for a day that I almost wasn't going to bother getting up for
until next time.

3D Scene is on the way

I've just finished my first object for a 3D scene that me and my partner Tegan have begun to construct as part of a partnership for our latest 3D assessment, it will be the home for a bear and a nutty squirrel wearing an eye patch go figure.
The next thing will be to make the  other organic objects such as pine trees, a few logs and rocks along with a waterfall, hopefully my work in blender is up to scratch for this project and that I won't let anyone down.

Due Dates!!!!

Due dates and the end of the semester seem to be hurtling towards me at an unstoppable pace and I'm still yet to finish my web site, get into m 3d models for a scene in blender or complete the first scene for a short 2d clip its manageable the problem? don't think I can sacrifice what little free time I actually have to myself to complete some if things.

if you were actually intrigued enough to read this good on you.
until next time

Web? no thanks

So far it seems that most of the class has grasped a good understanding of how dreamweaver works to successfully put to together a site, yet I'm still quite lost but have everything that I'd like to place into it the problem... is that having little practice or knowledge of the program has left me frustrated and lost, but I'm aiming to get some tutoring and place it together in the next week or two so things will fit together one way or another.

2D A thing of the past?

The 3D industry appears to be leading the pack when it comes to game design, films, apps alot of things are taking the path so why bother with 2D at all?
Sure 2D is simple and quite effective especially for flash games, since they are for online usage and have to be a compact size for optimal load times and efficiency, but despite this many next gen systems are already becoming a fast standard in having the capacity to handle 3D applications.
what are your thoughts on  this?

Any ideas? comments

Design Flawed by lack of feedback from customers using design software

It seems that at one stage or another regardless of how much you pay for a program that at some point or another it lacks the capabilities of providing help when needed, or that it should of had far more capabilities with the provided tools, even simply having a whole new suite available for a large sum of money when it has barely anything new to add.
Yes I'm talking about adobe and its software suites that are aimed at designers globally, prehaps if it had a more effective way to target its consumers for feedback, that the next generation of software would super seed the old package without breaking a sweat, leaving users less frustrated and more content about money well spent.

Creativity in Design lost?

When you think of design is it a thing in its self, or a variety of art forms all bound into one?
Yes there are principles supposed way to do things but how can you be creative when there are boundaries isn't that a creative blocker?
